HOW?! How does 12 years just fly by like that? I’ve blinked and poof! 12 years married. I’ll admit, I am one lucky woman. Matt and I started this crazy, intense, heart pounding ride 17 years ago and I absolutely LOVE him and who he’s become.
We’ve come so far from where we began, a night and day difference.I know, from the depths of my soul that this man loves me with his whole being. I will never have to question it. I pray that he never has to question it either. Reminding him that he is my love, my handsome home, my always and forever is something I do daily. Because he should know that every day of his life, he has someone who completely adores him.

Matt’s great grandmother once told me that the secret to a happy marriage is to never go to bed angry. So we don’t. Plain and simple. We always say good night, always give each other a kiss and go to bed together. I think it makes a world of difference.

We’ve shared life’s biggest scares, losses, and heartbreaks together but we’ve also shared life’s biggest blessings, monumental successes, and a love that so many people will never know. We’ve grown and evolved together and I’m so proud of that! Can you imagine, meeting the person you would be the best version of yourself with, at 18! WINNING! We did that. I’d do it all over again.

We celebrated by getting a babysitter, preordered pizza and Matt and I went out. We went to Sperry’s for dinner, had some wine, a seafood tower and a delicious kale and quinoa salad. The seafood tower was obviously for Matt 😆 We ordered dinner and enjoyed some great conversations between us. We then went to the movies, we saw “the cursed”.  We weren’t sure what it was about when we booked the tickets, just that it was scary. Buuuuut whomp whomp, not a very good movie it was nice however to spend one on one time together. The popcorn was on point but my shake was a flop.

We came home to two tired boys, one with newly broken glasses 🙄 because wrestling and showing off is a must. The sitter was wonderful, kept up with the boys and played boardgames with them. The house was in great shape, animals all happy. Definitely a win win with just one casualty.
