Aye-yah! Lol!!! My sweet youngest baby, Ryan, is in Taekwondo, He’s been practicing this sport for about 2 1/2 years. In that time frame he’s worked from a Tiger white belt, into a advanced juniors brown belt! This almost 8 year old is A BROWN BELT!!!
To truly appreciate this you need to understand Ryan. He is the baby, the little brother, a mamas boy through and through. He is the shy, introverted, empath who likes to perfect any assignment and prides himself on it. Taekwondo as completely helped to boost his confidence, people skills and respect for himself and others. He is so proud of himself and it shows❤️
Watching him evolve through this time has been so bittersweet. The times he was so excited, he couldn’t wait to get to class. The times where he told himself as well as myself that he couldn’t do it. Counting himself out or helping others when they were in need. He always persevered.
This sport is one of the best things we could have done for Ryan. This is HIS sport, His hard work and dedication are shown in his belts and stripes. This precious little boy is becoming a young man right before my eyes and learning integrity, self respect and compassion along the way.
Ryan is hoping to become a 1st degree black belt by the time he is 10. And he can totally do it!
